Marianna Mantzorou, RN, MSc, PhD, is a lecturer with experience in working in an intercultural environment caring for patients with a different cultural background both in Greece and in the United Kingdom.

 

She is teaching Gerontological as well as Community Nursing (both in pre and post graduate level). In her PhD study she has analyzed the stigma around dementia, its impact on professional as well as family carers’ burnout and through qualitative kinds of study, the formal and non-formal kinds of knowledge used by nurses who care for elderly persons with dementia.

 

She has taken part in numerous European intensive programs, international weeks and teaching programs within Erasmus exchange programs. She is currently a researcher in the Erasmus + program Interhealth: Intercultural competences of Healthcare professionals and she has been a member of the advisory board of the Erasmus + program HCEU-HealthCareEurope.
